But how much would you pay normally? You'd pay that at some pubs in Kidderminster or Worcester, not just Birmingham city centre. Sure, it may appalling, but that's just the times we live in...
I thought the Coke was different too, but it was just bottled Coke, not carbonated syrup.

Carling in Selly Oak is around £1.70, and is as far as I know in most chain pubs. Carling is the low end of the market, a budget lager if you like, and is usually under or around £2. £2.50 is usually reserved for stuff like Grolsch and Stella, premium lagers.

Smelly Poke is student city, plus I guess you have a yellow card do you not?. I dont see the difference between buying at pint at C11 or the Acadamy when you go to gigs there... after all there sometimes 3.20 and ppl pay for it

Yeah exactly, you can't compare a gig to having a pint in a chain pub like a Wetherspoons!

How much are pints in Eddies? Surely what people are getting at is the beer prices would be best if they matched those of pubs/clubs like eddies/scruffs/gallows.

Thats something we dont have control over. It can be asked but they dont have to listen to us.
We are gonna get a fixed price list and ask for a reduction but dont expect anything dramatic
Prices of pints range from 1.90 - 3.40 in Brum

I don't think they were expensive, I think I was used to the old Reanimator prices.

Fair enough, point taken at a gig - but this is a pub! I still don't think Carling should sell for more than £2.

You get what 3 great bands and DJ's for next to nothing. When you would pay a lot more to see a main band and drink watered down beer in the Acadamy.

I'd definitely agree with that - the price of entry makes the price of beer fine

We don't set the drink prices and don't have the clout to negotiate cheap deals but I agree that they're expensive.
The old Reanimator prices were awesome: we knew these were going to be higher but I was a bit surprised on Saturday as they were higher than I'd anticipated. It is a bit of a compromise I suppose in that we have a nice venue and a cheap night as far as entry goes, but you are still entitled to moan at us and we will see what we can do.

£3.50 for a double V&C is fine by me. Especially after paying £6.35 in the academy. In my local it's £2.40, but then they don't have metal band's and fine ass DJ's.

I was paying £2.50 for Carling. I have no sympathy for any of you! Carling is bad enough but paying £2:50 a pint is just silly!
