I dont think there is anything to worry about... I just think
Reanimator - Is great night out seeing your friends, If you like the bands its a bonus you really cant argue at £4
Its just seeing my friends having a great time. It gives me a massive buzz!

yeah... there was way to much thrash a while back, but now i see you got some good varied other metal genres. I will try my hardest to make it to the death metal gigs however, if there are more "mixed" metal nights rather than just "more thrash" then i will make more of an effort to turn up but also it will be good for the metal community to have other nights rather than just "THRASH THRASH THRASH THRASHTASTIC THRASH...."
On another note, at what time does reanimator (as a gig night) close up, becuase i know you used to have a dj after the bands, do you still get that?

We normally shut abut 12-ish. It depends how many people stick around, but in general nearly everyone goes after the last band, so we don't bother with a full on DJ-ing thing anymore, just a few tunes whilst we wind down.

I would make more of an effort to attend if it was more varied so i agree with Choptimus. (Then again, what options were there post Bilskirnir, pre Reanimator? Thrash nights are better than no nights).

Off the top of my head since we have been doing gigs
October Headless Cross,Godsize,Deceptor (thrash) November : Sarpanitum, Hattori Hanzo,Life Denied (death) December : Hell Militia,Theoktony,Funeral Throne (bm) January : Evile, Mutant, Heretic (thrash) Febuary : Diamanthan,Anoxia,Maniakal Torment, Deadweight (dm) March : Conquest of Steel, Seregon,Dark Forest, Vincent Drive (metal mix) April : Gamabomb,Deceptor,Mutant,Nebukadnezza (thrash) May : Cancelled but would of been Bonesaw,Ingested and two other bands (dm/grind) June : Centurions Ghost,Blood Island Raiders,Imindian, Eternal Torment (doom) July : SSS,Oppression,Gamabomb,Sekhmet (thrash) August : Closed for the summer. September : Thrash Alldayer (thrash)
Plus the upcoming doom and death in Ocotber
I feel it is very varied.
Yes we DO have very strong ties with the UKthrash community, but as a whole those are our best shows, As it seems what most people want.
We booked a doom show like people asked and only 35 people turned up.
As i've mentioned above the next two shows are doom and death, and I believe the November and December ones are DM/Grind.

One problem the UK scene has right now in terms of Death Metal is a lack of headline quality bands at this level. I have a massive list of bands worth seeing but who sadly won't draw a crowd if they headline a night, but very few viable headliners as most bands are either too small or too big.
Normally we sort the headline act first and then invite support acts depending on who we think would be most appropriate for a good show overall. I'd welcome any SENSIBLE suggestions

How about Spearhead? They're coming into a bit of prominence now and I think they're pretty good.

Besides summer not being a good time for local gigs anyway (especially when turnout at Reanimator can depend quite a lot on university dates/exam schedules), it's not really the weather for Doom gigs. Plus most venues would have been saunas on that day so I imagine any gig would have suffered at the hands of the garden party. As for Spearhead... not a bad suggestion! From Pove's list it sounds like we need more BM and traditional Heavy Metal (not second-rate Thrash with an Iron Maiden patch to make them "True Metal" though)
