Once again there was a bit of confusion between the bar staff as to what the actual drinks promos were, and I'd just like to confirm the following:
Pints of Amstel £1.50
Single shots of vodka £1<br> If you're drinking vodka and coke it's cheaper to buy the single shots, and separate cokes. It's a bit arse backwards, but it's the only way we could arrange it.
Also, whilst I'm here, an apology to the chap who I told had to take his cap off (not Adam) - the usual policy at the Mono Bar is no caps, no hoods, no trainers and no sportswear but considering that makes up the majority of punters and I've not actually seen anyone asked to remove said items, I'd just like to apologise for being over zealous. We're keen to keep the bar on good terms, but from now on I'm going to let them police their own policies.

Just to add to this, regarding the vodka it seems that one of the barmen was applying the offer to singles and the other to doubles. Sorry for the confusion - for the next one we'll establish exactly whats what with the staff beforehand and let you know on entry, coz all the drinks that aren't on offer are REALLY expensive!

Heres a wierd thing. Richard, one barman, said he was doing two for one on vodka, or £1 for a vodka FLAVOURED shot!? What is that I hear you cry? Well apparently its a bit of vodka, a bit of vodka-based gay drinks in a shot. The other guy was doing £1 vodka shots, but if you ask for a double, the till still has it registered as normal double prices. So. Er. Wheres the moral of the story? Er. Drink beer. Thats what

or the blue shit, tis same price as a pint and don't taste as rank i was quite mortified they didnt have any JD there the other week but on the plus side, if they had i wouldve had no choice but to drink it in vast quantities and that would mean taking out a loan to cover costs!

Ah, the drinks prices. Three visits, and I'm still unable to make up my mind whether the staff are a: incompetent or b: con-men.
The bloke I spoke to (whilst giving him the patented Alix Death Glare) reckons that his boss said that the price is 1.80 for vodka and coke, due to the promotions, but they have to ring it into the till as 1 vodka and 1 coke or it comes up as the higher price.
Personally, I'd have stuck a reminder on the till, but that would be simple.
Fugly- who did not appreciate having to go up to the bar to get her money back when she could hardly stand.

Yeah I remember one of the bar staff telling me they'd run out of Amstel so were doing bottles of Carlsberg for £1.50... then I think Rich or Ruth went to the bar and brought back Amstel?!
Tres bizarre, but hey, roll with the punches. Wonder why the place is so expensive... I know it's on another thread but I can't remember when the last reply was, has anyone come top a conclusion on like venue / night changes?
