What the fuck is up with "metal heads" nowadays

Ok i normally dont go on massive forum rants about the "scene" in the west mids but i reckon ive been posting on here too long and you people are starting to wear me down ;D

Ok so ive been up in Brum flyering the Insision show at Decapitated tonight and im like what the fuck is wrong with these people.

First off you hand them a flyer and they act like you are giving them fucking AIDS, its a piece of fucking paper advertising a gig for all you know a band you like who you didnt realize were playing, your local area.

Secondly if they take the paper and its not advertising whatever trendy fucking death metal act there bumming at the moment they make shitty comments fuck me when i was like 18 i was well up for going to as many DM shows as poss around Brum if i knew about them, im not gonna lie and say i went to them all cuz i didnt and to be honest i regret that, but i cant change that and i missed sum quality bands playing around here even if only 6 people actually turned up.

Thirdly people seem totally uninterested in going to see any other bands apart from ones such as nile, decapitated, cannibal corpse etc which is not a knock at those bands but i mean come on alot of cool bands have passed through last few years in brum but if its not at the Wulfrun or Academy people dont give a fuck example Amputated at the black horse last year so many people were downstairs with there yet again trendy death metal band shirts on who didnt go up and go to the gig and tbf if u can get obscenely drunk and watch amputated and have fun theres somthing wrong with you and there a damn sight more exciting than watching Nile bore the shit outta you

so i think thats my rant over with now, im prob being a tad hypocritical on sum points which im sure sum smart arse will point out but i can totally see why alot of underground promotors are now jacking it in when u cant even advertise your gig without a bunch of cunts being all arsey and patronizing to you

Damn I thought it was tonight. Well Decapitated/Kataklysm that is I am such a mook.

Flyering is the most depressing thing in the world. We did it in the early days of Reanimator I remember flyering outside of the Acadamy when Megadeth played and Evile supported (It was sold out) and Bill and I were flyering for Gamabomb I think? and no one was intrested.

I cringe sometimes with the bands we have put on that have moved on to bigger things. If you take into account we put on Evile and Gamabomb way before they were signed and you could of saw them for the fraction of the price and they were more raw, right on your doorstep and not have to pay £3.50 a pint in a gloryfied sports hall.

People just dont know what they want anymore simply, but it is due to a lack of a independent venue in Birmingham and everyone man and his dog thinking they can play promoter.

I personally couldn't care less. I gave up putting bands on years ago because of this attitude, and from my own personal point of view, I'm not particularly fussed about playing gigs anyway. If something good is on, I don't mind travelling for it and if I want to go out, I go to visit mates and/or go to the pub or something. Leave the mainstream losers to it, and pool your efforts into something more worth your time and money. The UK is a lost cause, shit attitude, stupid fans. Fuck them.

With regards to your point about the Amputated gig. Not everyone likes Amputated, why shouldn't they be able to sit in the pub having a drink if they're not into the bands? I don't see the point of supporting any old gig for the sake of it.

Fair enough. I can quite imagine the crowd at a Decapitated gig is full of dullards.

At the end of the day, if Terrorizer hasn't told them its worth seeing, they don't give a fuck.

I pulled a bigger crowd to see Conquest of Steel at the Pear than I did to see Cloven Hoof and half a dozen other amazing bands in Wolves, and although the Conquest guys are great, thats a travesty. I'm gutted as hell about dropping Reanimator but with it has come an incredible sense of relief...
