Righty-o, I'm looking for some assistance regarding Ulver here. I've got the first three albums, all of which are personal favourites of mine and I want to get into some of their other material but I don't really know what I should try first.
I know their material since Nattens Madrigal hasn't been Metal but that's of no importance to me at the moment.
Any suggestions are much appreciated, cheers!

Copied and pasted from ages ago:
The Marriage of Heaven and Hell is quite bombastic and rock influenced. Perdition City is VERY atmospheric, urban and tri-hop influenced, incredible album. The 'Silence' EPs are much more electronic in general, not my favourite of their works but still interesting. Lycantropen Themes and Svidd Neger are excellent soundtracks to films, very minimalist and noir-y but very melodic, with the odd bit of beat driven stuff. A Quick Fix of Melancholy is an exquisite EP, one of my favourite Ulver releases, with a mix of stuff across four tracks, and Garm singing (sublimely I might add) again. Blood Inside is the most bombastic since Marriage... with more traditional songs, but still great atmosphere and the usual Ulver experimentation. Shadows of the Sun is the latest album, quite minimalist, amazing Black Sabbath cover, highly recommended too.

I'd agree with billy's post mostly.
Perdition City followed by the A Quick Fix ep would be my recommendation.

I think it was me that asked then as well but I never got around to checking anything out!

Perdition City is a phenomenon. There's a track on it called Hallways of Always - allegedly inspired by House of Leaves.
