True, although if Reanimator had been the "proper Metal" part of Eddies for example, I still wouldn't have found it because I never go there - due to the fact that there's nothing for us "proper" Metal fans! I wouldn't go searching Scruffies or the Flapper to see if there were any fans of Extreme Music to talk to, because generally it's full of poofs.

The biggest problem with Mono Bar is that due to our consistently low turnout (by their standards) they won't confirm that we'll be able to run nights there for more than a couple of weeks in advance at any given time. This means I can't advertise the nights as I want to - by sticking stuff in Terrorizer, ZT etc. - which of course means less people know about it, which means we keep turnout at low numbers. Even our posters and flyers have to made in small quantities and on a night-by-night basis, as I can't really put something up that says 'fortnightly metal night' if we don't know if we're going to have to move it after next week

Luddite, woah I miss that word...
Personally I'd prefer a 10 - 2 night, not really arsed what day of the week. As long as it ain't Tuesday... What about somewhere like the, uh, Bristol Pear is Selly? Didn't they used to have a Goth Night or something?

If it's 10-2 during the week, it means most people who work won't be able to go. If it's outside the city centre, less people will go due to the hassle/cost of getting home. And Tom, Scruffies isn't full of puffs

There's no question of having Reanimator 10-2 during the week! Charlotte and I have a hard enough time getting to work Thursdays as it is I'm good friends with the guys who used to run goth nights at the Bristol Pear in Selly Oak, and the reason they moved to Scruffys is because the Pear was likely to cancel them at short notice if someone else asked for the function room, like the University rugby team... Out of the city centre isn't really a viable option either at the moment, as Phil says, anyway.

It's not really a new suggestion, but I do think scruffys is a good choice, its well known and costers is full of 12 year olds who are only let out on weekends .. damn them
