I have been OBSESSED with Apocalyptic Raids recently, Messiah has perhaps the most sickening vocal performance ever.
If you answered the fourth option, you need to go and buy Apocalyptic Raids and the first 3 CF albums now to rectify the situation.

Hmm, to be fair I don't think it will quite be to your taste, as it's the kind of recording that the word primitive was invented for. Nevertheless, I'll try!

Nevertheless, I'll try! absolutely, every word of that is true. i would recommend for nick instead (hello klaaus) to give Transgression a try (if Lee has not already pushed it on you), Morbid Angel "Domination" (again if you have not already heard it a thousand times before) and Björk "Gling Gló". Maybe. Hellhammer - has sheer stupidity but the charm of not having made 'cold lake' and having things like ''la tristesse de la lune' on it. Celtic Frost - musically superior in every single way. But it has so many thoughts it cannot contain itself. Shit I would choose Celtic Frost - but without the band hellhammer there would not be The Man

hello Captain Sparrow I'll try Transgression then. I have Domination, but I find it a bit nondescript. Typical death metal. I'll have another listen. No Bjork though, unless she's drastically changed her musical direction

Captain Sparrow : Nocternity did a Bjork cover on 'A Fallen Unicorn', well worth checking out given your current aural persuasions.

I have to come down squarely on the side of Hellhammer.Primitive it might be,but for sheer brutality it broke new ground.I loved "Morbid Tales", the first Frost album after they ditched the Hellhammer moniker, but "Cold Lake" was just unforgiveable;Pretentious does not even begin to describe it.I know Hellhammers lyrics did tend to be rather ridiculous, but at least it was only because they were so O.T.T. Celtic Frosts lyrics were ridiculous for a whole stack of other reasons.....And thats before we drag the moussed hair into the discussion.I still shudder when I think of the full unadulterated horror that was T.Warriors hair on the picture on the back of that album!
Anyway, I guess my tastes are just too necro to handle Celtic Frost after the "Cold Lake" debacle!

Bit of both really! Celtic Frost were a lot more consistant, but Hellhammer when they hit their high points were probably better. Triumph of Death is the evilest thing ever... probably the birth of extreme doom metal!?

Why? I could just get someone to play the low e string of their guitar really fast while I bash a typewriter in time, and that would approximate the sound of Ageless Venomous.
I think people should listen to proper DEATH metal and not the over-produced emotionless nu-death that saturates the metal scene. (Mind you, Conquerors of Armageddon is GREAT haha).
