They were on Relapse for some of their career. More thrash/death than black metal, as time has gone on they've become more and more HM oriented (an excellent thing in my book!) They certainly have a rock'n'roll element to them at times too.
I've raved about them before, and I'm still totally addicted to them - highly recommended for ANYONE who likes death/thrash/power/heavy metal with great riffs and solos, excellent horror themed lyrics and pummelling drumming.

That's kind of what I mean. "Blackened" in the way that King Diamond or Notre Dame are also, to some degree. Not Black Metal.
