As everyone said a top night. All bands were excellent, with Condemned and Neandertahl being exceptionally good. The sound was very impressive too, prob from the the two Engl's I spied on stage! Really enjoyed it, shame you won't be having many gigs like that one, a good change from all the Thrash.

Mixed bills would definitely be a good idea. I agree with this, I do like my thrash but have been feeling the shortage of good DM and Grind.

I thought the sound was pretty good too, my ears haven't been ringing too badly after Sunday night. Which is nice.
And yeah, there was some serious looking sound equipment on stage, wasn't there?

All the gear was brought by Nailed, hence it was mightily top notch. A very heavy sound and very fucking heavy to get up and down those stairs...

I am a proud owner of an Engl Fireball myself, I used it when Vincent Drive played ages ago.

It was a pretty good gig, not our best as we could hear absolutely zero on stage. The other two nights were better for us soundwise, even though the Alma in Bolton is much worse than the Selly Oak!
Hopefully we'll be back on a Saturday night, we'll play with anybody. maybe next time someone could scrounge some monitors up :-P

I would have come to this gig (or the one in manchester... although that was the night before i arrived!!!) but i think its partyl, 1) its a sunday and 2) its a death metal gig so the poor turnout is no surprise but im glad to hear that thoose there enjoyed the bands! Weve played with nailed and condemmed before and live they have never disapointed.
I think the poor turnout might have been also due to another death metal gig on in birmingham the same night (... what are the odds of that happening ey?)

I think mixed bills are a great idea, personally. You'll get a bit of everything and maybe a big crowd. Just depends on if bands like being on a mixed bill, though I don't see why not.
For example;
Indesinence Gama Bomb Grave Miasma Dark Forest
I'd pay a tenner to see that, haha

I personally think mixed bills are a bad idea - they're more likely to put me off than anything as I know I'll have to sit through one or more bands that I'm uninterested in. However I'm up for giving it a try!

However I'm up for giving it a try! There is that, but given the quality of bands you get to play Reanimator, I'm sure a mixed bill of top banana bands that a lot of people would enjoy would be relatively easy for you lot to sort out.

Sorry I missed this gig, by the way folks. How was it?

I wondered what had become of you Tath! Not seen you online for ages. The gig was ace but the turnout was staggeringly low. We knew it would be because of the night of the week but it was still a bit of a financial disaster for us. Great bands though, and I'm really glad we did it! We'll have to get them back some other time on a Saturday...
