Will this be opening any earlier? I'll try my best to come. Condemned are great.

Really big thanks to everyone who made it out to this. Charlotte and I were saying afterwards how good it was to hear some proper death metal at The Pear again - I missed Neandertahl whilst on the door but had a great time otherwise. Walking Corpse I thought were excellent, the second guitarist makes a big difference, and it was fantastic to see Condemned.
On the downside the turnout was horrible and after some discussion we've decided that we won't be running any more Sunday shows. It also looks like we won't be running any more pure death metal gigs for the forseeable future - we just can't afford to. Personally I want to see more dm bands at Reanimator so hopefully we'll be able to come up with a winning combination sometime soon.

Yeah it was a pretty damn good night, I really only caught Condemned but it was cool to catch up with a few people, who I dont have time to chat to when we are busy . It was a dire turn out really, but I guess its shows we cant win all the time. Thanks to everyone who turned up tho and the bands that played.

I thoroughly enjoyed every band that played last night. Whilst I'm all in favour of more DM gigs, I can see that it's just not viable and have to accept that.

pretty fucking lame that nobody can be bothered to turn up for a death metal gig yet turn up in their droves for thrash gig after thrash gig. do we only support uk thrash these days?
neandertahl were really impressive, condemned and nailed were both pretty good too. was kinackered though so sat at the back trying to stay awake.

I really enjoyed myself last night and I know Alison and Chop did as well.
I'm working away from home this week so it will be next weekend before I can post my pics and videos. I'll post a note when I've finished.
Shame about the turnout.
Cheers

Sucks to see that there was a lame turnout. As I said to Billy and Charlotte I have the lame reason of having not really been well all week. I could have dragged myself out for bands I really love, but as I was only overly bothered about Condemned anyway I didn't see much point making myself feel any worse.
Sunday/midweek shows will never really work I don't think. I seem to remember there not being a massive crowd when Gama Bomb played last Easter Sunday. I think the Warning gig - which was on a Tuesday - had a really big crowd due to the status of the bands. I think you'd struggle to get good turnouts on any night other than a Friday/Saturday for a 'regular' Reanimator line-up.

Wise words there Wayne old mate - I think the duff turnout was as much down to the day of the week as anything. I don't want to dwell on the negatives though. Condemned's guitarist was absolutely ace. I know the show was recorded, hopefully I can post a clip of it up here so all can witness his gurning and grooving.
As for the future, I think its strictly Saturdays only from now on. We don't want to turn into Reanimator thrash night, so we might experiment with some mixed bills in the future.

I'm really sorry I couldn't make it - had to spend some time with the in-laws, who are so un-metal it's incredible. They were meant to be gone early in the afternoon, but wound up staying 'till quite late.
Nice to see that mixed bills might be a possibility - come rain or shine I always seem to make the thrash gigs and miss the others, despite thrash being my least favourite.
I didn't even get a roast dinner, either.

Mixed bills would definitely be a good idea.
