The Watain gig date hadn't been announced when we planned this gig. Plus Watain were really disappointing live supporting Celtic Frost, so you might as well just stay in Brum...

Depends on Watain's set length, since a longer set justifies them pretty well, which the Celtic Frost gig didn't have time to do at all. I would like to see Impiety too, though.

I think this clashes with Watain + Impiety in London... Although the lineup for this Reanimator gig looks pretty damn good, I'm afraid I'm going to have to give in to the Watain/Impiety gig. Why is it when the Thrashathons finally Subside, it clashes? Erm we had two thrash gigs in a row? I dont really think that counts Thrashathon really.

If it's not doom/black or death it's thrash to tath!

Fuck Watain, I want to see Impeity!
I have to side with Adam on this one I'm afraid, the reason I don't come often is because thrash bores the pants off me (along with my legendary skintness), but I can understand why thrash gigs are so regular with the majority of the UK scene being generic thrash (they must all want to get signed to Earache) due to the new trend, and so many of the death metal bands are either crap, or so up their own arses they demand huge fees for playing to no-one, or just pull out consistantly at the last minute.

There's no way Megabus would let you get onboard after seeing a Watain headlining gig... not going to happen.
I fucking STANK after the gig last year.

A lot of them aren't very generic tbh, and most were going before thrash became trendy. It's hardly any different to playing generic 'old school DM' either is it, just not as acceptable to the underground scene police.

Well, I know the ones like Evile, SSS etc and I think they're pretty dull, though I don't know much about them. Obviously there's the true bands around too, I was more intending it towards bands like Amenti who just rip off Slayer and Metallica riffs and put hardcore vocals over them. I didn't intend it as an insult to anyone here, it's just that these bands really aren't my thing... I can count the thrash albums I own probably on one hand!

SSS are crap, and I'd barely call them thrash. Evile, Gama Bomb and Mutant are all fantastic though!

Too much stomping for me. I like my thrash fast and with nasty vocals ala old Kreator, old Sodom, otherwise it bores the shit out of me. Stomping is boring, but you can't foot/snare/foot/snare blast beats

Fair enough to those who want to see Impiety I suppose.... If its going to sway you, this is a rare chance to see Baalphegor in England, especially in a venue this, er, intimate!
