The one sitting on the stage during Warning? I thought he was crying or something The show was great, and the sound was dead heavy for all four bands. Seeing that pint glass just explode all by itself during Against Nature was awesome. It was cool to see them jamming with Warning too! I was so impressed with the turnout too. Billy and I were thinking we'd struggle to get anyone along but this really renewed my faith in people. Fantastic bands, terrific atmosphere. It really felt like something quite special, has to be one of our best shows. Dan, thanks to Imindain for coming down and delivering a set of such power and intensity. Massive thanks also to Steve from The River for organising the tour, all the bands for being such nice guys and everyone who came down and enjoyed a dose of proper doom metal!

That drunk guy was hilarious too! Which one? The one who had to sit down on the stage during Warning? I got introduced to him later, his name's Graham and it was his birthday. Or were you referring to Dave, the sound man, who so very nearly got a pasting from your singer?

That was my first Reanimator and utterly awesome it was too! I wish I'd had money to buy an album by Against Nature, just the opening power chord in their set was perfectly timed soul-shatteringly heavy, and their set only got better from there.

I was on the door all night, as im not much of a doom fan, and it seemed only fair to Luke and Billy to have some fun, Glad everyone had a good time.

Glad you enjoyed it! What do you look like? I'll come and say hello next time. A lot of Against Nature stuff can be downloaded from their website at www.againstnature.us/Home.html (although give them your money if you can, of course!). I'd urge anyone who goes there to check out the journal section too, there's some very interesting thoughts about music on there. Mazz, you are in for a treat tonight. I hope its a good one!

What a night! I was already on the way when we arrived because I'd had a pitcher of Long Island Iced Tea in town beforehand.
Imindain - Call me an arse-licker because Dan's my friend but they're just a wonderful band. Great songs, fantastic harmonies and the best Doom vocalist since Anathema had Darren White. Get those new songs released soon, they are fucking brilliant.
The River - I missed the start of their set because I was downstairs at the bar in a ridiculous queue but I think I only missed half a song or something. I enjoyed them a lot, and bought a CD which I shall spin later on. Good vocals as well.
Warning - Perfection. I don't know what else to say.
Against Nature - Not really my sort of thing but people were enjoying them nonetheless. I did admire the bassist, purely for having the bollocks to be out in public dressed like that!
Great night all-round. There was a good atmosphere, there was Stella Artois for £1.50 a pint, there were friends both old and new, and there was Doom.
On an Imindain related note, during their set I kept thinking to myself "That girl taking the photos is pretty hot" then I realised it was Dan's sister!! Sorry mate!

Funnily enough, Warning moved me least of any of the bands. Maybe it was because I was really tired by that point in part, but on the other hand Against Nature really got me going again. Imindain were great, I've got to agree the vocalist was stunningly good, and The River have to be one of the most sludgy bands I've ever seen, with the singing complimenting that well. Glad you enjoyed it! What do you look like? I'll come and say hello next time. I was the girl in the Orange Goblin t-shirt, shoulder-length dark hair...I was at the front going nuts during Against Nature Check you out gallivanting all over the country. I gave Savage Messiah's former bassist a bit of surprise by turning up there! Birmingham and especially the Pear is ridiculously easy to get to from where I'm living in Leamington though. It could be worse - in a few weeks I'm planning to go to Wolverhampton to see Chthonic, will be heading back to Bath for Heavy Metal Thunder a couple of days later, and then Awesomefest is in Bristol the next day...

Ah, I saw you! I wasn't especially sociable feeling last night otherwise I would have been more chatty. I was wearing the army shirt with the Ghoul back patch (and the scarf, gloves and woolly hat - am not well).
Should be able to upload some pictures tonight. I haven't got too many, doom bands don't throw especially exciting poses unfortunately (that's no criticism of the music quality) so there's a lot of pictures of people appearing to just be standing around.

Yeah guys really enjoyed the night, was great seeing people hadn't seen in a while due to me being a hermit recently! Really enjoyed the bands, even though not much of a doom fan they were great, forget who was who but: 1st - Missed half the set, but 2nd half was awesome, proper doom just the way I like it. The vocalist looked nuts 2nd - Couldn't hear the vocals at all, and some of the riffs I felt were over long and got a bit dull in places. Though the drummer going absolutely mental through most of it made up for it. 3rd - Good, but not overtly amazing, reminded me a lot of a very slow version of Mastodon, don't ask me why, just got that feeling! 4th - Superb, best band of the night, good mixture of jazz and prog with the doom. Really enjoyed their set

Absolutely amazing show last night, total crusher, THE RIVER blew me away and basically reversed my opinion of them, probably one of the heaviest bands I've ever seen.
WARNING played second from last and were totally devestating stuff, just pure epic heartfelt heaviness, I liked 'em before but I am a full on WARNING-HEAD now, felt like the building was gonna collapse.
AGAINST NATURE were totally superb, great riffs and massive sound, played a couple REVELATION numbers and got Pat from warning up to do a fantastic THE OBSESSED cover! John was visibly overwhelmed by the response, he had to stop and laugh a little between songs!
Met all the guys/girls from the bands and tried to have a conversation but I was so trollied all I could do was gush whilst dribbling.
Amazing night and in a first for me, I pissed in the bin in my room at about 3am like a walking corpse.

The only thing WARNING has in common with mastodong is ginger hair and a flying V.
