Peste Noir would be fantastic. I'd certainly be there.

Would it be possible to get either Celestia or Mortifera playing as well? As either one of those playing with Peste Noire on the same night would be immense.

Nah, mate. Neither of them play live. Neige has now left Mortifera anyway, so paying for Diabolus from Vrolok to come over from the US is a fair bit, even if they did. Celestia is pretty much a 2 man band at the moment as far as I'm aware so that's out of the question. Peste Noire would be a stretch on assumption of the Reanimator price range, and that's just them alone! You'd have to get Haizum supporting considering the contacts within the Reanimator main common goers and someone willing to play cheaply or for free would also be gladly accepted. To be fair, with the fuckbuggery with the venues with Hell Militia last year, their contraversial video background, fighting, Nazis and other problems, it's not very likely a gig like Peste Noire would go ahead, but it would be nice to get Povey drunk and get him to agree to sorting it at a future point....

Getting one foreign band would be costly and hassle enough, unless they came as a package travelling together.
Besides not understanding the fascination with faggy French wimp bands, I don't think it's likely that the lineup suggested could happen. And I don't think Diabolus would be interested in playing live because he's not actually a "Black Metal person". (I've known him since he was a 16 year old Punk kid, with Emperor as the only Black Metal band he liked. Sick was started as a joke band, and then Vrolok formed... I wish I could find some of those early promo shots!)

Talking of which, how much were Oppression to book from Sweden? Or were they just "In the neighbourhood...." ?

Cool comments above from Tom and Tath... our budget is sadly pretty limited, so to get a band over from Europe we'd really need to be either good mates with them or for them to be in the UK anyway, and even then we're looking at UK support acts.
We're often hampered by the fact that bands can command a pretty decent fee on the continent due to the strength of the scene there, so when they look to play here they ask for (to us, anyway) silly money and we have to say no. This is why so many bands only ever play one UK date, in London - its the only place commercially viable. We've been offered some great international acts bu had to pass on them all to date, but hopefully we can get stronger and eventually be able to shell out for some bigger bands somewhere down the line. In the meantime theres loads of great UK bands around...
As for Oppression, they're doing a small Euro tour so its been a bit more economical to get them. Sadly (and typically) their other English dates both fell through, so this is now their only UK show.

For a foreign band, if you hope to pull the most punters, you need an exclusive band, like Hell Militia were, but that also means they'd charge more since it's not part of a passing through tour to 'catch 'em whilst they're there'. It's a tricky situation.
Exclusive UK show means a band can pull people from all over England and make Reanimator a lot of profit to use to book better bands with after, however it also means they'd ask for more since they're coming over specifically as a oneoff. Bands on part of a tour means you'll only get people from the surrounding areas to see the band whilst they're in the vicinity, but as the band are around anyway, you're only required to pay for booking them, not their travel costs over seas.

Trust me Reanimator will never make any profit.

Well obviously not a personal profit, but surely some bands will bring in more than you put out to be used for the next night?

Yeah thats correct and that is how Reanimator works in theory as we have gigs planned months ahead.
You really have no idea how close we were to folding after HM

Don't let on how much hard work it is, ok? Make it look effortless.

Making it look effortless leads to pillocks like "DJ Adam" thinking that they can pull it off too...
Reanimator is a hard-working organisation, as shown by a long series of very good gigs, and a thriving scene based around it. Not just a bunch of wankers trying to "look Metal" and score with young Emo girls.
