Damn right. People seem to choose what is and what isn't the word of god as suits them - which is one of the most hypocritical aspects of christianity. If it's the word of God then surely it all is and all of it must be infallible gospel - which means you can't have the fluffy 'love thy neighbour' bits without the bits about raising cities and putting every man, woman and child, even the cattle, to death if they don't love god, or women being inferior, or being allowed to beat kids or whatever. Some of the bible is very at odds with modern liberal thought, and these bits seem to be conveniently forgotten by a lot of people. If you follow a religious path then you can't pick and choose which bits apply to your life! It's just a crutch for the weak of spirit and a tool for the ruthless to control them.
I think it was Mark Twain who said Yahweh (God) was 'the bloodiest character in childrens fiction'..?

And, to play devil's advocate, what if it did sound a bit racist? People are entitled to an opinion, and it's not as if we have the next Varg on our hands here (thank fuck). You for one always say that racism is not welcome here! I'm sorry Stoney if I got the wrong end of your post, of course anti-religion is not racism, it just sounded a little BNP to me if you know what I mean . Edit: spelling thanks to fear of Tom

heh heh! I don't criticise spelling all the time, it's just that it seemed so appropriate because of what the sentence said ;D I just remembered another site that they would have taken offence to, in response to Stoney's post. By the way, it wasn't my main Nekrosoft site that they commented on. www.nekrosoft.co.uk/candie is the model's site. I don't see what's wrong with appreciating the beauty of God's creation, whether it's taking a photo of a beautiful landscape, or some woman's norks. Anyway, as I said to that guy, I just made the site. I didn't create the content, but even her agents didn't force her to strip to be humiliated. It's her job, and the only reason that is possible is the fact that people are willing to pay to see her. Anyhoo, I digress. The site I was talking about is here: www.nekrosoft.co.uk/deathcam It's a spoof by the way, so don't have a go at me! The original disclaimer said something like "If you're stupid enough to believe that this is real then you deserve all the trauma that it causes you".

hehe I can't resist a rant about religion.
I am anti-religion...all of it! well lets say I'm anti organised religion, as it is the biggest cause of conflicts in the world. Religion is meant to be about peaceful beliefs right, but how can you justify that when most wars are over religion?
If i was going to be religious then I wouldn't see a need to go to church, as surely God is someone who you can interact with independently? You shouldn't need churches lined with Gold, and priests as a middle-man just to pray to god, that could be done at home.
I don't force my atheism on other people so why should I have religion forced on me? Obviously I would disagree with any points that they were making and would stand up for my own beliefs but I'm not about to start flyering people's house with the message "Believe in Nothing!".
I have some christian friends who are very nice people...if not for the fact that they keep telling me I am going to hell. I don't know about you but I find that pretty offensive! And how come christians can commit murder and repent and go to heaven (if it exists) and yet an atheist could never do anything wrong and they would go to hell...I think thats a bad message to be sending out! "it's ok to be a criminal kids, coz jesus will save you"
what happened to focusing on the world that we're *actually* living in and making that better instead of assuming that it will all be fine in the afterlife.
It's no wonder that Christianity (particularly the catholic church) is in decline, because it can't adapt to the modern world. I mean a lot of the teachings in the bible are really misogynistic, and sure at the time women were seen as second-class citizens....but how can you follow those teachings in todays society?

Ah my great ambition; to take down all the one-way-street signs in Ormskirk. Now that'd really fuck everyone up ;D
At the end of the day, anything that can cause people to commit their lives to it, for good or for evil (and isn't metal, booze, or a pair of boobs) is a bad thing.
Sorry for the way that the grammar is AWFUL there but I'm nursing a sore head from Liverpool's heroics last night...
