I was dying to know what that kid was scribbling on himself! I'd have asked him but you don't want to be approaching people like that really.

Pretty sure I've seen people on Facebook today going on about how 'funny' this showing was and how much fun they had shouting and cocking about. Peons.

That aside it does sound genuinely interesting. As you guys know I'm not especially into / interested in BM but I find this whole period fascinating because of what went on and what came out of it. I'd be keen to try and catch this at another time.

I was going to come to this, but the audience is the reason I didn't bother in the end, and by the sounds of it, I'm glad. I almost got into a fight when I went to see Rocky 6 because chavs were talking through it, I think this would have been carnage! Hehe! Anyway, I'll just buy it when it's out on DVD, if it's crap - there's always ebay.

If anyone can find anything on Facebook, please post it here. I'm not a member of the site.
The film was excellent, and made me feel strangely spiritual about black metal again. Burzum recordings last night, this morning and now.

So who attended the pre-screening Scruffy's black metal night? Did King Shymond request Anaal Nathrakh? ;D

This now makes me hope even more that the film plays again in Birmingham. Sounds like a pretty good film. I doubt that it will, to be honest, but it was a good film - weird visual artist and Frost stabbing a couch aside.

Did King Shymond request Anaal Nathrakh? ;D I get the feeling the night would have featured heavily from the Kenney-stable, and the DJ would have had a fight on their hands had they tried to avoid playing AN, judging by the way Shymond conducts himself on Facebook. I'm more interested in what everybody here thinks definitely wouldn't have featured in the set that should be considered as mandatory. By that I mean stuff that most people should know if they listen to BM. I'm willing to bet that the compiled results would be enough to make at least a set in and of itself.

Haha, well I've only met the guy once and thought he was a total idiot, other people have said the same. He told me that Anaal Nathrakh was "the real thing". In that case, black metal is certainly doomed. Anyway, stuff that should have been played but wasn't was probably everything good in black metal - what actually got played was probably Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, Immortal and Anaal Nathrakh... lapsing half an hour later into Pantera.

I've actually yet to meet him, but I originally added him on facebook and he sent me a message back saying that he doesn't accept friend requests from members of bands that have slagged off mistress. Apparently Barney or one of the other ex ET-members may have said something years ago and he's carried the grudge ever since. I asked him to explain further and he realised that he couldn't actually remember what the problem was and also realised that I had bugger-all to do with whatever it was. Unfortunately nowadays I have to put up with the resultant incessant status updates about East-enders.

I admit, I don't know him, but from the two sentences I've ever exchanged with him, he strikes me as a totally clueless scenester who knows nothing about music outside his local pub and what his mates tell him is cool. (Allegedly Suicide Silence or something like that is also real death metal). In those two sentences he basically epitomised everything I despise about metal "fans", so I don't really want to get to know him any better. I'm sure however, that the feeling is mutual.

The guy is a cunt. He once told a mate of mine he was actually in Anaal Nathrakh. Classic hanger-on loser.
