Glad you enjoyed it. Worth a watch definitely.
I sat through Robocop 3 last night. Fairly dreadful. You can tell when a sequel film is going to be shit when it makes significant effort to reference the original, as if that somehow lends credibility.

I watched a fair bit of The Green Mile last night. It was worse than I remembered. Usual Tom Hanks cliche tearjerker attempt. I kept expecting john coffee(like da drink, only spelled different) to say "life pretty much like a box o' chocolates.." What did you make of road to perdition, just out of interest?

I remember liking it a lot, but I'm now wondering whether I have to re-watch it.

Just saw Iron Man 2. Stuff blowed up and I liked it.

Yeah, I fancy seeing that for some popcorn entertainment; same with the new Robin Hood.
Just watched A Prophet at Mac; really enjoyable film about gangs in French prisons, definitely recommended. Good news that the Mac's reopened, and their film programme looks excellent.

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
It's utter bullshit. You're better off sending your girlfriend to bed with True Blood so you can watch a scheisse movie. Trust me.
It takes the ideas from Eternal Sunshine and Being John Malkovic, drains them of any joy or meaning and spins them together in a plot so thin that anorexics would recommend it a week of chocolate cake. Risible.
That being said, I watched the firsthalf hour with a screaming whelp so maybe it's the best film ever.

Inception.
Total waste of 2 and a half hours. Rancid, dreadful film.

After a long time in the movie wilderness I watched Predators at the weekend and then tonight watched Pandorum, Brick and Solomon kane back to back.
Predators surprisingly ace despite a couple of shonky CGI moments. Blatant homage to Predator right down to the score and nicking certain lines. Utterly predictable and dumb but really enjoyed it.
Pandorum went totally under my radar on release, started off well but couldn't maintain it, spoilt by a few cliches such as the woman being a total ninja etc. Still enjoyed the atmosphere and the cheesy ending, nice one.
Solomon Kane pants, disjointed and boring, although some lovely shots, very artistic.
Brick fucking awesome, like a film noir Breakfast club. I was a bit worried it would be some trendy wank like Donnie Darko but it was less pretentious and more interesting. Check it out.

Inception. Total waste of 2 and a half hours. Rancid, dreadful film. I've not read too many reviews of Inception like that. I'm expecting to quite enjoy it. I saw Predators last week, thought it was pretty damn good, considering how awful the last two predator outings have been. I saw Rec2 not long ago as well. I can see why it divided people, but I really liked it. I thought that the new ideas were good, although the tension and pacing was not equal to the original.

Inception is something like a cross between Existenz and Eternal Sunshine, but executed horribly. I've never seen a film bring in concepts and then abandon them like that. The acting is poor, although the script isn't great. Some of the effects are very cool bu I often found myself wondering why they didn't take any of their ideas further.
It's not even a triumph of style over substance. I was hugely disappointed.

I saw a trailer for Inception and the ideas looked cool, but the script seemed REALLY awful. It's had excellent reviews in general though, even from reputable sources, so I was thinking about watching it. Perhaps not now. Although it's got to be better than Love Honour Obey?!

Any criticism of Love Honour and Obey will get short schrift from me, Clough.
