How did this go? I'm sorry I missed it, but my gravy train has yet to put into the station.

First off thanks to everyone who came to this!
Secondly apologies to everyone who came to this for the shortened sets by all three bands. Unfortunately The Gates of Slumber and Lord Vicar were caught in horrible traffic coming up from London and didn't actually arrive at the venue until well after we were supposed to have started. There were a lot of motorway closures and this morning I've found out that a lot of people outside of Birmingham had similar problems getting to the venue - some guys from up north were in traffic till 10:30 before giving it up. I myself was stuck in traffic for a good 30mins directing The Wounded Kings from Chinatown to the venue, and that was just getting into Digbeth. It all added up to a low turnout and lot of frustration.
On the plus side both the bands, audience and the venue were really good about it all and we had three really great sets from The Wounded Kings, Lord Vicar and The Gates of Slumber. Chritus is an immense frontman, he looks and moves a bit like an evil wizard onstage yet without looking like a total goof. The Wounded Kings I think are fantastic, its really hard to believe they've been gigging for such a short amount of time. Onstage they're a slightly different beast than on record but without losing the atmosphere... They have a new album coming out soon which I'm very much looking forward to. TGOS basically ripped through all of their shorter tracks, pretty aggressive and a very metal (rather than doom) set. It was all a bit bittersweet as we had so much more scheduled playing time allocated originally but we made the best of it and it ruled. The bands are awesome guys and we really hope to be able to do another show with them sometime in the future to set the balance straight. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and Lord Vicars book-style vinyl is a thing of beauty. A bigger turnout and I would have snapped one of those up!
